The only thing I find weird is that I thought (with some well thought out exceptions) that discriminating by sex was not allowed. I guess it is just encouragement? Another German word of the day: Let's assume the German government wants to introduce an electronic way to declare your taxes, as in "Elektronische Steuererklärung" ("electronic tax declaration"). And they want a nice "catchy" phrase for that... What would be a nice cat...

I did not know that was ever a thing but if you say so, I might try and ask :) It is/was normal in Germany for children to get a free slice of Schinkenwurst when they go shopping with mom/dad at the butcher.
