Joy Harmon , American actress known for the memorable car wash scene from Cool Hand Luke , dies at 85. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QpiHtOnXbrc BTW, the shots with the men digging, and the shots with the lady washing the car were filmed independently... That's high quality acting! "What we'...

Re: Waste removal

That's what my parents did. Garage was full, storage room, laundry room, every closet full. My brother and I took multiple trips to the dump. My sis was trying to look for treasures. She ended up taking some of their clutter home and is still sifting through it 10 yrs. later  Concerning "...

Re: Waste removal

What I would like to do is hire a skip, put everything in it, and let the skip folk take it away. However, whenever I've used the skip folk in the past (once a year after I've removed tress/bushes from the garden), they have been pretty specific about needing to know everything going into the skip ...

Re: What do you think about Iran conflict?

BBC reports on this: Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat in the Hungarian election after 16 years in power, with the opposition on course for a landslide win. There was talk that maybe Putin will not accept this vote, and invade. Hungary is a NATO member, the Ukraine is not. He'd better ...

Re: What do you think about Iran conflict?

Orbán is bravely defending Hungary by keeping it hooked on Russian energy, blocking help for a country Russia invaded, and repeating the line that everyone else should absorb the strategic cost instead. Very sovereign. Very patriotic. Very conveniently aligned with the Kremlin. Of course leaders sh...

Re: autopayment of bank credit card

My transaction is recorded in € and my US cc company charges me in $ at the current exchange rate and with no added fees. This is absolutely fine when your bank defines "the current exchange rate" at a price that is a decent interpretation of the "real current exchange rate on the wo...

If you haven’t had time to paint the Easter eggs, here are 48 minutes of ‘porch pirates’ versus ‘glitter bombs’.

Current computer prices, especially memory and GPU-chips

Apple is reportedly buying up all available mobile DRAM at very high prices to starve out its competitors If things keep going on like that, the computer landscape in Europe will look like the streets of Cuba in five years. They have to keep old cars running at all costs (because of the embargo)......
