Re: Kleinunternehmerregelung
And this 3 year exemption from rentenversicherungpflicht is for when I am not a kleinunternehmer or irrespective of that (and starts this year while I am still a kleinunternehmer). The public pension exemption has nothing to with your tax status of Kleinunternehmer. The 3 years started at the start...

You are not scheinselbständig. Scheinselbständig were the poor, exploited Eismann delivery drivers, because Eismann wanted to avoid paying the employer's part of the social security contributions: https://www-berliner--zeitung-de.translate.goog/der-kampf-gegen-die-scheinselbstaendigen-li.74479?_x_tr...

When the Abfindung gets paid out does not affect your Arbeitslosengeld I, it would only be affected if part of the money ofthe Abfindung would be salaty for months that are part of your regular termination period, please see here: https://www-finanztip-de.translate.goog/aufhebungsvertrag/abfindung-a...

Re: Confusion with salaried gig/ taxes / KSK rules
Hi all. I've been a freelancer in Germany for the past ten years, never had regular employment. I've been a member of the KSK for most of the last ten years. During a recent work rut, I tried looking for other gigs, including registering a profile on a site for film extras. I've now actually been o...

Please note that if your business client is non-German, that turnover does not count towards the 25k€/100k€ Kleinunternehmer limits. Oh really? I have been looking for this info. Thanks! So, a non-german (US, in this case) client can pay me whatever and I can remain a Kleinunternehmer? If there are...

Re: National Insurance Class 3 contributions and German tax
Yes, but it has already been considered by your employer, i.e. you already paid less Lohnsteuer every month because of this.Mousiemouse wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 2:34 pm Regarding the amount I paid, is it actually tax deductible?
--> nothing extra to be gained because of this in your tax return.

Ditto dentist, but that need not be so central. We have met with some pretty weird dentists here and in the UK. Doing unnecessary stuff like replacing filling that don't need it. In that case, I recommend Alldent , it's a dentist chain and has branches all over Germany. Their dentists are employees...

Someone just said on a different forum that " Post-Brexit the Germans no longer accept contributions to the UK state system for deduction of tax, sadly. I just lost a fight with Finanzamt over this ". I suggested that is not correct and that Brexit has not changed anything in that regard....

I'm changing web-browser today because Chrome no-longer supports the ad-blocker that I use. In the process I have had to re login to a bunch of sites. Grr. How hard is it when a site sends me a confirmation code via email to not include a space at the end and/or make the stupid verification form ig...

Transferring a portfolio internationally is not easy. I suggest he first checks whether it is possible to transfer his portfolio from Trading212 to TradeRepublic, i.e. he should instruct Trading212 to send the shares to his new Trade Republic Depot: https://helpcentre.trading212.com/hc/en-us/article...

I'm thinking of buying a mini oven for cooking pizzas, frozen chips etc. From what I've seen it is 1600W and 220-240 volts. Can I plug it into a 'normal' wall plug? Is there anything to be filed if you don’t sell? I am thinking of just buying ETFs for now without any selling. There will be the Vorabpauschale to tax for accumulating ETF, even if you don't sell anything. You have to tax that just for owning investment funds. But if you are at a German broker, th...

Last year, I registered in October as a Kleinunternehmer (research scientist/Freiberufler), and worked on a couple of small projects, but the company paid for those invoices in January 2025.
