hh-sailor wrote: Sun Sep 15, 2024 10:57 am That lamp is dangerous - don't use it!
Thanks, I returned the lamp to the store and showed them the picture to let them know it was defective (so they don't sell it to others). I will check about the RCD....

Re: used car buying experience/advice

Then the answer would seem to be that you either have to reduce/flex your requirements (for example, the Skoda Octavia instead of the more or less identical Golf) or increase your budget I'm afraid. Have you considered EU-reimported new cars as an alternative? I don't mind increasing the budget, bu...

Low voltage current on outer surface of Floor lamp

I don't know if this is the right forum or place for a question like this, but the title "volt, ampere and Watt" encouraged me :) I recently bought a new Dimmable LED floor standing lamp. After plugging it in, the brushed steel surface had a tingling/vibratory (weird, hard to describe) fee...

Re: used car buying experience/advice

Another good site to check is autouncle.de: Thanks, I did check it out, and like you pointed out, it has a couple of helpful features (over mobile.de). Most cars however are from Autohero and so I am back to deciding weather it is safe to buy from an online dealer without test drive (I do realize t...

Re: used car buying experience/advice

Autohero is an online shop for buying cars directly. Autohero tends to have good prices but I wouldn't use it because you don't have the possibility of seeing the car before ordering it, never mind having a test drive. No thanks. Thanks for taking time to do the search for me! The above reply about...

Re: used car buying experience/advice

Thanks for the reply....my criteria are very restrictive :( Like umfallfrei, not more than 2 previous owners, 150ps, low mileage, 2018-2020 model, automatic, benzin. With these the number is really low (far and wide). Hence I was wondering about online purchase. I see cars on some sites like Autoher...

Hopefully, you have Rechtschutzversicherung in case you need to get a lawyer involved.
I am hoping not to get to the stage where I would need to involve a lawyer (nothing against Lawyers, really).

He/she has insurance but didn't cause the damage. It was a teenage guest whose parents don't have insurance.

Re: damage to rental property by guests

Being liable but not having a liability insurance -> you're still liable. Simple as that. I understand this, however, if they stop communicating there is no way (short of litigation) to go after someone, and that would be cumbersome and costly, wouldn't it be? Also in real world it would be hard to...

damage to rental property by guests

Hello, Would a renter's haftpflichtversicherung cover rental property damaged by their guests (guests are disowning the responsibility as they have no haftplichtversicherung). (Incident: during a kids party, one of the kids threw a ball that damaged the roof and broke a plastic panel, which is a lit...

If you don't live in Baden-Württemberg , you can just send the Einspruch by e-mail. couln't file "Antrag auf Anpassung der Einkommsteuervorauszahlungen" as WISO requires Elster zertifikat, which we don't have as we always file with WISO directly. Any workaround?

Re: Vorauszahlungen

The Finanzamt calculation software for the prepayments has a bug, sometimes it calculates too high prepayments. Do an "Einspruch gegen den Einkommensteuer-Vorauszahlungsbescheid 2024ff" and ask for them to be corrected down to the 2023 tax burden amount. Thank you so much for taking time ...
