Re: Kleinunternehmerregelung

You are caught by the 5/6 * turnover rule, there is no arguing about it. The only thing you can do is apply for an exemption at DRV (Deutsche Rentenversicherung) for the first 3 years of your activity, by filling in and sending them form V0050.pdf: https://www.deutsche-rentenversicherung.de/SharedD...

Re: Kleinunternehmerregelung

[*]Yes, it's true if you do not earn more than 5/6 of your turnover from just one client (if you do earn these 83.3% from one client, you have to pay mandatory public pension contributions, because of § 2 Nr. 9 SGB VI: https://dejure.org/gesetze/SGB_VI/2.html Paying into German public pension insur...

Re: End of three years of Aufenthaltstitel...what would be the next step

Got an email from case worker that he would not respond unless the email was in response to a query initiated by him/her.
I also wrote to the LEA inquiry section and got a automated email asking to look up on their comprehensive website for the information.

Re: Kleinunternehmerregelung

OP here, with a couple of follow-up questions: So it looks like my work as a Kleinunternehmer is taking off well, I have received many small projects and likely will exceed the 25k Euro limit (just by a little more, but not by too much) for Kleinunternehmer. 1. Do I start paying Vorauszahlung (at t...

Re: End of three years of Aufenthaltstitel...what would be the next step

Yes the ABH (Auslaenderbehoerde) would be the people who issued you your residence permit. Ask them whether this language certificate would be sufficient. My guess is yes. Also, don't wait too long. Just tell them you want to start the process of getting your documents in order. If you're in a big ...

Re: End of three years of Aufenthaltstitel...what would be the next step

Contact your ABH and ask them. They will probably tell you to apply for the NE and what documents you need. Thanks, I will do so when I get a little closer to the 3 year mark. (p.s: How is ABH, How do I find who my ABH, and their contact info. Is that the person who interviewed me and approved the ...

End of three years of Aufenthaltstitel...what would be the next step

Hello, As the title says if someone is on family reunion based Aufenthaltstitel and is nearing 3 years (i.e. validity of Aufenthaltstitel), what would be the next options. I ask this question as I saw that one cannot apply for Niederlassungserlaubnis or Einbürgerung as the 3 years are not over. Is e...

Kleinunternehmerregelung

Hello, i have a couple of quick questions about Kleinunternehmer status and rules. Last year, I registered in October as a Kleinunternehmer (research scientist/Freiberufler), and worked on a couple of small projects, but the company paid for those invoices in January 2025. Does that mean my first ye...

Re: Windows 11 to unsupported hardware or Linux Mint

I made the move to Linux mint more than10 years ago and have been super satisfied. Adv: Relative virus free, so many wonderful programs, libre office, GIMP, etc, full control over the program etc. Disadv: some tax software etc don't support Linux, learning curve to get used to command box etc, somet...

Self employed in Germany and FICA (soc. security tax) in USA

I was reading PandaMunich's response in this thread https://happy.toytown.ing/viewtopic.php?p=5499&hilit=teacher#p5499 regarding regarding public pension contribution as a kleinunternehmer (essentially that they don't have to pay public pension contributions). So if one doesn't pay in the German...

Re: used car buying experience/advice

So the car inspection (360 degree is still not done, there is no answer for the vibrations etc) and the sales agent is the most unprofessional. We wrote a signed letter, asking to withdraw from the contract, he then replied it would cost us 10% purchase fees. Can this be correct, we haven't even tak...

You can't add anything to the contract....the contract was signed after the test drive (before the inspection etc).

Re: used car buying experience/advice

OP here with an update: So I found a certified used car (albeit 350 km away) and drove there...the sales guy gave only 30 minutes to test drive! It was a certified preowned, so I asked about the 360 degree (multi-point inspection), and he said it was not yet done! I asked him so how come this car is...
