Not an absolute necessity, but I wouldn't choose to be without one. They are great for re-heating things, cooking stuff that makes a mess in a pot, e.g. porridge, and for defrosting things when you forget to take them out the freezer in time (as I frequently do). They think it will appeal to the grey voters who the Tories are very much in danger of losing. Likewise with the plan for no tax on pensions. Quite how they think they are going to pay for everything and keep reducing taxes I have no idea. Same applies to Labour though, they are all in cloud-cuckoo ...

Honest answer, not sure I really have. Sprachtalent is not something I was at the front of the queue for. Did some courses to C1 (slightly above my level of incompetence) at the VHS when I arrived here, then promptly found a job where English is the working language. My German then deteriorated rapi...
