Re: autopayment of bank credit card
I thought I would never need a credit card until I found out that it has some advantages. Like if I want to hire a car in the UK, if I pay with a debit card I have to pay more with some providers. But credit cards give me the lowest prices. So I now have a santandare credit card, in Germany that aut...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
He has an expired UK passport and a valid German passport with a valid ETA. Look near the top of page 2 of this thread, to read what he has. Maybe its because he is using an already issued ETA from 2025 ? Maybe the next time he wants a re rewed ETA, he will find it hard ??? All of this is confusing ...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
Which makes the Irish passport the most powerful passport in the Europe, and very close to the most powerful passport in the world. As with an Irish passport will allow the holder, to work, live own property in the EU and the UK, no need no need for a second passport. You also get to several more co...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
I have some problems with this. In 1989 as a dual national (NZ/(UK) had problems (for the first time) with entering UK on my NZ passport. So your dates are way off. My NZ passport said place of birth UK. But major thing was I was dealing with immigration guys, and was lucky enough not just to sound...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
As far as I understand it the change is the same in the US, UK and EU. The UK, voted through this in a law from 2023 but delayed implementation until this February this year. But its like any new law, that you did not know about, its applicable, even if you did not know things had changed. From the ...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
All interesting. I however find it difficult to believe that Ryanair would do this, because if Ryanair did this and UK immigration refused to let a passenger in then Ryan air would have to take that passenger back to their source country free of charge. This could add up to a lot of money wasted for...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
Just one very small point British or Irish can enter the UK with passports, without problems under the new rules. In practice because of the Irish - UK, freedom of movement, I would be surprised if anyone was stopped going to the ROI, crossing to NI and getting the ferry to the UK. The checking rule...

I did hear that WISE is not a bank, so it does not come with the 100000 loss cover that you normally get with banks, but I am not sure. WISE do offer a good rate, so its wise to use them for storing money there that you might need quick. If they do not offer the 100000 guarantee, I would say only us...

Re: Can British citizens travel to the UK using a non-British passport?
Anyone know why they are changing the rules ?
Who is it supposed to target for non entry ?
Or does it give the UK extra powers to spot any TAX thief's ?

Re: Ryanair goes totally digital. No paper bording passes.
But going to the airport without a printed boarding pass does not appeal to me. With my printed boarding pass in my pocket, I can pass thru security and go directly to the gate as I only have a small packback. Without it , what must I do? Where do I get my boading pass printed? At a check in desk? ...

Not to be insulting to CC, as I like his style on here, he is never aggressive and just seems a nice person. But I also agree with what has been written above, about this. I think has got to a point in life, where things are becoming difficult, I feel it sometimes as well. I used to understand how t...

Re: Looking for a law firm that can certify a bank statement
I have tried to certify by the police, many times, sometimes it works, most times it does not, as they are longer required to this. It just depends if the police station you ask knows the rules or not or how friendly they want to be. I got my documents certified by a TAX accountant in the end, for o...

Re: KV/PV payments as a pensioner
But paying NI does not give you the benefits of the NHS. National Insurance covers you for the following National Insurance contributions count towards the benefits and pensions in the table.
