You can do holidays as much as you want during Elternzeit and you will not loose Elterngeld by being abroad. BUT if you do an Abmeldung to be abroad without having an of...

Re: Ummeldung, travel & social benefits
May I just add, I found this online (please see below) but it doesn't state anything more specific about my case: "Whether you’re moving to Germany to live, work or study, anmeldung becomes a mandatory step under the following circumstances; If your stay in Germany is longer than 3 months i.e. ...

Hi everyone :) We're a couple, both EU citizens, with 2 kids, 3 yrs and 3 months old, respectively, the latter born in May this year. I'm unemployed as of April receiving Elterngeld (and Kindergeld). My husband has a contract until the end of November and is scheduled to receive Elterngeld in Decemb...

Re: Kindergarten accident
Hello again, Thank you so much for your feedback - indeed, the most important is that my kid is ok. I'm sorry if my first post was a bit convoluted. By writing here, I wanted to get a feeling if this situation was to be considered normal (first the lack of clear communication with us - not the lack ...

As I said, I want to understand why Y left in such situation. Is she protecting herself legally in some way? that's the purpose of my post, to understand why.

Kindergarten accident
Sorry for the long post, but I'm seeking advice. The other day we got a call from the kita saying our 3 year old daughter had fallen down, hit her head and thrown up. We picked her up and the staff gave us no more info; we rushed to the hospital and she was examined, at first glance everything was f...

Re: Pregnancy, health insurance and contract termination
Hi everyone :) A brief update first: we did manage to get married before the baby is born  :) I called AOK to be transferred from TK to my now husband's insurance. They say while I'm in Mutterschutz it would be simpler to remain in TK and change afterwards to AOK, in my case 1st of August. Stil...

Re: Pregnancy, health insurance and contract termination
Then I’m not option 1 due to the Urlaubsgeld and Weihnachtsgeld.
If we are not married, even though he has public health insurance, I’m not option 2 either, correct?

Re: Pregnancy, health insurance and contract termination
Hi PandaMunich!
Thank you for the wishes and the reply
Does monthly gross salary mean the annual salary split by 13 or the actual gross monthly salary? This would determine if I’m option 1 or not
Thanks,
Ines
